Dr. (Mrs.) Justina Nigozi Ekere, a Chartered Librarian, until her appointment as University Librarian, Federal University of Technology Owerri, she was a Principal Librarian and Head of Reference Section, Nnamdi Azikiwe Library University of Nigeria, Nsukka. 

Dr. Ekere holds B.Sc. (Hons ), M.L.S and a Ph.D in Library and Information Science  from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. She also has professional certifications from well known organisations like the Galilee Institute (GMI). She has also gone through  several Professional trainings in  countries such as; Michigan State University, U.S.A, Uganda, South Africa, Ghana, Glasgow, U.K and many more. She  is a highly skilled library practitioner, seasoned administrator, an educator and astute researcher. 

Her career progression began in 1997 when she was employed as an Assistant Librarian at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and through diligence, hard work, honesty and dedication she has progressed and made a notable mark in the field of library and Information Science with over twenty-three years post qualification and cognate experience. 

Dr. Ekere has to her credit; several articles published in highly rated reputable Impact Factor- rated International journals and also presented papers at numerous National and International conferences. She is an author and a reviewer and has also contributed many chapters in highly recommended and valued books as well as indexed works.

She has been an adjunct lecturer in several Universities which includes Imo State University Owerri, Nigeria, Enugu State University of Science and Technology, Enugu, Nigeria and Hezekiah University, Umudi, Nkwere, Nigeria

In 2004, the Governing Board of the American Biographical Institute (ABI) in recognition of her significant accomplishments within, and mastery of library and Information Science, conferred on her GREAT WOMAN OF THE 21ST CENTURY, a title reserved for women whose accomplishments and influence are as a result of their superior dedication and professional integrity on the global map. At the national level, she has also received an AWARD OF RECOGNITION from the University of Nigeria Alumni Association in 2005.

Dr. Ekere is a member of professional associations such as the Nigerian Library Association (NLA), African Library & Information Association & Institutions (AFLIA), West African Library Association (WALA), the International Conference on Education for Teaching (ICET) and a consultant to some Non-governmental organizations. 

Dr. Mrs Justina Ngozi Ekere is creative, thorough, focussed, purpose driven and supportive. She has initiative, cheerful disposition and a certified team player, this enables her to get on with her superiors and peers.

Her Research, Scholarly Interest and Activities includes knowledge management, ICT application to libraries, Electronic records management etc.

Dr. Ekere
is of the Christian faith, married to Professor Felix Chimaobi Ekere with lovely children and enjoys research, music, travelling, cooking and evangelism.
