Who can use the Library?
Staff and students of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri
are welcome to use the library as well as research students from outside
the universities can apply to use the Library for reference.All readers
must be registered before they can make use of the Library.

What is the Library opening and closing hours?
The Library is open Monday to Friday from 9.00am-6.00pm,
and 9.00am-2.00pm on Saturday while the Library is closed
on Sundays and for holiday.

How can I search for materials in the Library?
You can search for material in the library manually or electronically.
The manual search involves using the author, title or subject catalogue
cabinet; while the electronic search involve using the Online Public Access
Catalogue (OPAC) search that gives you the bibliographic description
of the material you need or you can also search for theses and dissertation
using the end note software as the case may be. There are library staff
on hand to guide you through the search.
What services does the Library offer?
The library offers the following services; loans, reservation,
reference services, re-prography, bindery services and ICT
and other social media services.

What happens if I lose a book?
The user will be expected to pay the full cost of replacement
plus service charge. The user will remain liable to pay any
fine that may accumulate before loss is reported that is why;
it very important that If you have lost books which you have
borrowed from the Library’s collections the loss must be reported
as soon as possible to the staff at the Reader Services Desk.

What materials does the Library hold?
The Federal University of Technology, Owerri happens
to be a University of science and technology, hence the
library holds extensive collections of books, journals
(electronic and hardcopies) published oversea and locally
and other materials on Engineering discipline, Sciences,
Health technology, management technology.
